Mushroom derived immune enhancers have been used in cancer therapy worldwide since their discovery in 1976. Examples of these types of mushroom derived polysaccharide compounds are Lentinan, PSK, PSP, Grifolan, and the cross-linked beta-mannans from Cordyceps.     Another group of compounds found in IA 247 are the naturally occurring altered nucleosides from Cordyceps. Cordyceps sinensis contains a number of different compounds that have direct anti-viral replication activity. They interfere directly with the RNA synthesis as the virus is replicating.     The other natural anti-viral compound in IA 247 is EGCG, which is the polyphenol compound found in green tea. It has been shown in Japanese research to inhibit the binding of HIV to the CD4 cell itself. It acts as a viral binding inhibitor. But for IA 247 we found a way to purify EGCG and suspend it in a time-release matrix so that it gets past the stomach acid without breaking down. That way, you get much more of it into the blood stream compared with just drinking tea. Enough, hopefully, to keep some of the virons from binding to the CD4 cells, and slow the infection process. If that can be accomplished, then HIV just becomes virus number 501. Just another resident virus in the body doing no harm. While this may sound overly hopeful and idealistic, at least it has scientific data behind it, and anyways, green tea does no harm. Write a review.   1 of 1 people found the following review helpful:   Immune Assist 247 June 13, 2007 Reviewer: Edward Ziegler from Orange, CA United States   I have been taking the Immune Assist 247 now for over one year and have avoided the usual colds and flu type that seem to come like clockwork each winter season.  I take IA247 on a regular basis three times a day, however I have given my daughter half-dosage during her times of the sniffles and it has decrease the severity and duration by half.  If I do become ill, my length of time is short and with the help of the Critical Immune Assist I recover quickly.  Due to the city life and all the toxin that come with it, it is great to have the protection and help from Immune Asst 247.  It supplements part of my health routine, along with exercising and good eating habits.  Thanks Tom for your quick and informative responses for all the and comments questions that I have sent you Was this review helpful to you?   6 of 6 people found the following review helpful:   Hallelujah June 13, 2007 Reviewer: Stan Johnson from Topeka , KS United States   I have a history of high triglycerides in my family. My dad died of a heart attack at 49, and I am 53. My Mom had a triple-heart-by-pass and told me to watch my triglycerides and to keep them low. In 2000 I checked them and they were 1625! They are not supposed to be over 125. The ladies at the Doctors office later told me, “we knew something was wrong because before you left the office there was a white film forming on the top of your blood.” As I understand it, having high cholesterol is like having oil in your blood, and having high triglycerides is like having chunks of paraffin (wax) floating in your blood stream. They can clog up your heart and arteries much faster. I began to do all the natural herbs and supplements to get them down coupled with exercise. The lowest I could get them down to was 350.
